Grindetti Aims for Third Term in Lanús

Former mayor Néstor Grindetti has shown interest in returning to the position in Lanús, supported by PRO supporters. Despite not being promoted by himself, followers insist on his candidacy to regain the mayoralty in a difficult election year.

Grindetti Aims for Third Term in Lanús

In the south of Greater Buenos Aires, flyers have appeared showing former mayor Néstor Grindetti with aspirations to assume a third term in the party of Lanús. Despite this, Grindetti accepted an offer in the Porteño territory from Jorge Macri, after his candidate, Diego Kravetz, lost in the last general elections against the current mayor of the municipality, Julián Álvarez.

Although it was made clear that the idea of returning to Lanús was not directly driven by Grindetti, members of the PRO insist on his return to the district. The PRO councilor of Lanús, Damián Schiavone, mentioned in statements to "Política del Sur": "Néstor, since he left the mayorship, has never stopped coming and meeting with neighbors, in addition to walking Lanús and being very well received by the memory of the two terms that he served with much affection and presence."

In the context of an election year and with doubts about the future of the PRO due to a possible electoral agreement with La Libertad Avanza, Grindetti is positioning himself as a viable alternative for the party's grassroots in recovering the mayorship in Lanús.
